SIN EMBARGO, EN CIERTOS PAÍSES, EL CAMBIO DE UN VALOR DE UN ODÓMETRO (CONTADOR) O LA INTERFERENCIA EN LA CORRECCIÓN DE SUS INDICACIONES ESTÁ PROHIBIDA BAJO LA AMENAZA DE LAS PENALIDADES. DE ACUERDO CON EL ARTÍCULO 306a DEL CÓDIGO PENAL POLACO, ESTO ES “QUIÉN CAMBIA LA INDICACIÓN DEL ODÓMETRO DE UN VEHÍCULO DE MOTOR O INTERFERE EN LA CORRECCIÓN DE SU MEDICIÓN, ESTÁ SUJETA A LA PENA DE PRIVACIÓN DE LIBERTAD DE 3 MESES A 5 AÑOS. LA MISMA SANCIÓN SE APLICARÁ A CUALQUIERA QUE COMETE A OTRA PERSONA LA REALIZACIÓN DEL ACTO REFERIDO.
